Mission Statement: It is the mission of St. Gianna’s Group to foster within the parish family an awareness of the dignity and sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death. The group commits to prayer, education and action in the defense of life by observing and promoting the teachings of the Catholic Church on all life issues, including abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, assisted suicide, and embryonic stem cell research.

Is supported by the Bemidji-area Knights of Columbus
Hopes to further grow, promote and educate other parishioners about the group.
Assists with annual (January) Roe v. Wade March for Life.
Recognizes Mother’s Day/Father’s Day within the parish.
Operates the third Saturday of the Month Prayer Hour at Planned Parenthood year round.
Supports the 40 Days for Life nationwide.
Seeks additional prayer effort at PP during nationwide fall campaigns.
Has held two local campaigns at PP in 2012 and 2013 along with nationwide efforts.
Provides nationwide updated in the bulletin during fall and spring campaigns.
Supports Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL).
Beltrami County Fair booth involvement.
Assists with MCCL Annual Fall Tour (Bemidji area).
Is securing a logo (work in progress).
Submits weekly pro-life bulleting announcements.
Future publishing of pro-life affirmation statements from parishioners—current work in progress
Advocates for life as issues and topics surface from the media.
Promotes writing “Letters to the Editor” locally—and letters to state legislators.
Assists with Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC) needs as necessary.
Supports Northwoods Area Pregnancy Center as needed.
Promotes/advertises pro-life movies, and movie nights for youth and others.
