Have you had anything unexpected happen...like an unexpected benefit, joy, moment, etc. from distance learning either as a parent or as a teacher?
Some of my students made me Flipgrid videos that were awesome! I love sleeping in an extra hour and having coffee on my couch while snuggling my kiddos.
What is something your class has been or is working on/ learning?
We have been working on our SuperKids letters, reading, writing and numbers up to 100!
What has been the most difficult part of distance learning?
Not seeing my students!! I miss them so so much. I mostly miss their hugs every day,
seeing them smile and hearing their stories.
Looking back to when you first found out you would be distance teaching, what have you learned/how have you grown?
I have learned that I can be flexible! I usually like to have a plan and know what is coming next, but I have been able to live in the moment and enjoy life a little bit slower.
Has your class had a Zoom meeting? What are your goals for Zoom meetings for your student's age group and do you have any advice? Were there any memorable moments from your Zoom meeting you'd like to share?
We did a classroom Google meet and it was fun! Two of my students ended up sharing
animal skulls which was very interesting. I didn’t expect to miss my students sooooo much after I saw their sweet faces again.
Is there anything you'd like to say to your students/families and or the families of St. Philips?
I would like to thank my families and my students for being so incredibly supportive.
Even when things aren’t perfect, you all make everything feel like it is perfect. I
appreciate the emails and notes more than you will ever know!
