St. Philip's warm and welcoming atmosphere is made possible through the efforts of our volunteers and parishioners. To ensure that the children entrusted to our care and all people coming to our facility are treated in a manner that is consistent with the Diocese Safe Environment Policy, St. Philip's requires all volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults to be certified through the Diocesan Safe Environment Program. Background checks and ongoing training help to ensure no one is put at risk. To see the Diocese of Crookston Safe Environment Policy click here. For On Line Training for Safe Environment, click here. SAFE ENVIRONMENT Volunteers are essential to the working of St. Philip’s Parish, St. Philip’s Religious Formation and St. Philip’s School. As part of our church family, we strive to create and maintain safe environments for all who are here. To ensure that the children and youth who worship, study or participate in activies we sponsor do so in the safest and most secure setting possible, we are requiring that volunteers complete the Volunteer Acknowledgement and Consent form and receive Safe Environment Training. Volunteers who need to complete the Volunteer Acknowledgement and Consent form and receive Safe Environment Training include: catechists (teachers), High School Small Group Faith Leaders, Life Teen, all School volunteers, drivers, adults that help with a service projects, chaperones, Children’s Liturgy of the Word leaders and volunteers who work with vulnerable adults. Every year volunteers will have to complete the Acknowledgement and Consent form and do training whether you have volunteered in the past or not. If you are unsure if you need to do the training or not, please contact the Religious Formation or School office. Volunteers need to do the following: Complete the Volunteer Acknowledgement and Consent form (every year) Receive Safe Environment Training* on-line training – www.crookston.org Safe Environment Training Your participation, cooperation, and assistance are most appreciated. *The passing of a short quiz will be required in order to earn a certificate of compliance, necessary to complete this training.
